Welcome to
Fighting Phat, the web page spawned by my blog,
FightingPhat. The blog was born out of my desire to lose weight, and to share my experiences in that endeavour.
I hoped that other people might be assisted by my experiences in losing wieght and that I might receive some support from
others who were starting out, or who had already reached their goals. In particular, I had hoped that a community of
people in similar positions and trying to achieve similar weight loss to my own might be able to be formed for a
support network. This web site will be the place that I post handy documents, articles, and xls spreadsheets that
I use along the way in my fight against fat. I also be posting some photos, as
well as my stats on an ongoing basis. If you have any suggestions for any content that you would like to see posted on

was first published in August 2006. Since then this site has been updated weekly. Most recently I have added a new cardio fitness tracker as an xls document that you may find useful. This can be found on the spreadsheets section of this site, along with a new timetable I have set for myself in the lead up to Christmas 2006. Some of you may find that this helps you in your own fight agaisnt fat. All of the old templates are still on that same page for you to use if you wish.
I am pleased with my progress and believe that if anyone should choose to follow what I have done, they will experience similar results to those that I have. Please ensure that if you are considering starting an exercise and diet plan you shoud always seek medical advice before doing so. It is also suggested that you seek advice from exercise professionals to give you some direction as to what you should be doing to achieve the goals that you want to achieve.
I have included my diet and the cardio fitness routine that I have followed as my fitness improves. If followed these should prove useful to anyone wanting to achieve any weight loss goals that they might have. Don't forget to come back on a regular basis to see the changes to the

The information on this site is based on my own experiences trying to lose 45kg (99lbs) of excess body weight. As at 8 September 2006 I had lost 15.8kg (33lbs), putting me roughly 33% of the way to my goal weight. I'm pleased with the progress and have to keep with it.
